The Leaching system is probably the most important part of any subsurface sewage disposal system: The effluent entering the Leaching system must be free of sludge or undigested sewage particles so the liquid can be absorbed into the soil. In passing thru the soil, sewage is acted upon by bacteria in the presence of air. This aerobic action purifies the effluent and destroys disease causing bacteria. ACME-SHOREY manufactures and stocks several styles of H20 rated Leaching structures ie. Flow Diffusers, Leaching chambers, Leaching pits, and Leaching galleries. The choice of the most effective leaching system should depend on soil characteristics, ground water, available space, site topography and anticipated flows.
